Euro NCAP has released its full report plus video footage of the 2016 Hyundai Ioniq’s crash test. The vehicle is identical to 2017 Hyundai Ioniq here in United States and Canada, in which the hybrid vehicle scored the full 5-Stars.

The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq with its Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system tested against vehicles and pedestrians. The Ioniq managed to avoid accidents in the 31 mph (50 kmh) city and inter-urban tests. The Ioniq also managed to avoid a crash in the AEB pedestrian test at 28 mph (45 kmh), and although the test dummy was hit in the 31 mph (50 kmh) AEB test, the speed at impact was reduced to 15.5mph (25 kmh).

2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid comes with the full safety suite of features, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring as well as Smart Cruise Control in its fully loaded models. However, even the base model gets seven airbags and electronic stability control as standard.

Euro NCAP Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the Full Width test, 100% of the width of the car impacts a rigid barrier at 50 Km/h. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.
