Ford's choice of a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 instead of a V8 for the all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor made some fans wince, but you can't argue with the results. Put a 2017 Raptor up against a last-generation 2014 model in a drag race, and the old V8-powered truck doesn't even stand a chance.

The 2017 F-150 Raptor makes 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, increases of 39 and 76, respectively, over the old Raptor. Ford also mated the Raptor's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic gearbox to keep the twin-turbo engine right in its power band, and thanks to aluminum construction, the new model is around 500 lbs lighter than its predecessor.
